Viruses and Other Threats. In providing any data to the Hosted System, the Participant must use reasonable efforts to ensure that the medium containing the data does not include, and that any method of transmitting the data will not introduce, any program, routine, subroutine, or data that will disrupt the proper operation of the Hosted System or any part of the System or any hardware or software used by the NDHIN in connection with the System, or that, upon the occurrence of a certain event, the passage of time, or the taking of or failure to take any action will cause the Hosted System or any part of the System or any hardware, software or data used by the NDHIN or any other Participant in connection with the NDHIN, to be destroyed, damaged or rendered inoperable.

Participant shall further use reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access to its computers used to access the HEALTHeLINK System; which efforts shall include, without limitation, the use of access appropriate identification and security measures and the prompt installation of all software vendor-recommended security updates (subject to Participant’s standard acceptance testing).
