Voltage Control Equipment Sample Clauses
Voltage Control Equipment. Each transformer shall be provided with voltage control equipment of the tap-changing type suitable for transformer capacity for varying its effective transformation ratio whilst the transformer is on-load and without producing phase displacement. The voltage control equipment shall be designed so that it may be easily operated by automatic control. Equipment for local and remote electrical and local hand operation shall be provided and shall comply with the following conditions: it shall not be possible to operate the electric drive when the hand operating gear is in use it shall not be possible for any two electric control points to be in operation at the same time operation from the local or remote control switch shall cause one tap movement only unless the control switch is returned to the off position between successive operations all electrical control switches and the local operating gear shall be clearly labelled in an approved manner to indicate the direction of tap changing The local control switches shall be housed in a marshalling kiosk. The equipment shall be so arranged as to ensure that when a tap change has been commenced, it shall be completed independently of the operation of the control relays or switches. If a failure of the auxiliary supply during a tap change or any other contingency would result in that movement not being completed, approved means shall be provided to safeguard the transformer and its auxiliary equipment. The supply available for electrical operation of the control and indication equipment shall be as stated in this Specification. A suitable auxiliary transformer of adequate capacity shall be provided for the supplies required for controls and indications specified in Schedule H1 in order to limit the voltage to 110 V. Apparatus of approved type shall be provided for each transformer: To give indication mechanically at the transformer and electrically at the remote control point of the number of the tapping in use on the transformer. The numbers shall range from 1 upwards, the lowest number representing the tapping position corresponding to the maximum number of winding turns, i.e. the plus per cent position, and the highest number representing the tapping position corresponding to the minimum of winding turns, ie the minus per cent position. To give an indication at the remote control point that a change of ratio is in progress by an illuminated signal and a buzzer type alarm. If the tap change is not completed in i...
