Use necessary precautions appropriate for the environment. Car temperatures can sore and ruin hardware. Equipment and accessories: Never borrow any IT equipment from your peers nor loan your supplies to others. Aircraft Travel: • always carry the laptop in your carrying case and avoid checking it as luggage; • the laptop and its data will not be damaged by exposure to airport X-ray machines. Thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may cause a risk of explosion at charged fields. For this reason, you should always leave the open pit during thunderstorm. You can monitor the progress of a frontal thunderstorm with thunder radars available on the Internet. When the frontal thunderstorm is approaching the quarry, leave the blast area. Everyone working in the area is obliged to ensure that all persons working in the blast area are aware of the approaching frontal thunderstorm. In addition to this, the mine contractor shall issue a notification of the approaching frontal thunderstorm on channels 7, 8 and 9 of the VHF phone. Once the thunderstorm has passed and it is safe to return to the pit, a separate notice will be issued in the same way as described above.

  • Quarantine A Teacher shall be granted a leave of absence with pay as a result of being quarantined or otherwise prevented by order of the Medical Officer of Health from attending upon his/her duties.

  • Adverse Weather Shall be only weather that satisfies all of the following conditions: (1) unusually severe precipitation, sleet, snow, hail, or extreme temperature or air conditions in excess of the norm for the location and time of year it occurred based on the closest weather station data averaged over the past five years, (2) that is unanticipated and would cause unsafe work conditions and/or is unsuitable for scheduled work that should not be performed during inclement weather (i.e., exterior finishes), and (3) at the Project.

  • Severe Weather An employee who is late for a scheduled shift during a severe weather day will be offered the opportunity to work his/her full regular schedule of hours if work is needed, without suffering any pay deductions taken from such employee’s regular scheduled work day providing such employee completes his/her shift. Severe weather days are days when weather hampers mass transit (e.g. buses and ferries) from transporting travelers to their destinations. If weather conditions are such that driving to work would be hazardous, roads are closed, or travel to work would result in extreme hardship, an employee may use his/her PTO time if unable to report for work. EIB is not available for severe weather days. Employees are required to provide notification as soon as practicable if they are going to be late or unable to report for work.

  • Nepotism No employee shall be awarded a position where he/she is to be directly supervised by a member of his/her immediate family. “
