Wage Rate Established. It is expressly understood and agreed that the wage scales, herein provided for, are minimum scales. No clause in this Agreement shall at any time be so construed as to reduce the pay or increase the hours of any employee now on the payroll of the Employer. Nor can it be so construed that any employee may not be given a salary above minimum, be granted an increase in pay before period specified or be advanced or promoted in the service of the Employer

No clause in this Agreement shall at any time be so construed as to reduce the pay or increase the hours of any employee now on the payroll of the Employer The Employer may pay an employee above the minimum wage scale and/or accelerate the advancement of the wage scale with written agreement from the Union. If it is the intention of the Employer to hire an employee whose duties fall outside the existing classifications contained in this Agreement, the Employer must notify the Union before hiring.
