Unpaid Sick Leave. The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.
Unpaid Sick Leave. An employee who is off sick beyond her entitlement for sick leave, or long-term disability benefits or Employment Insurance sick benefits shall be considered to be on unpaid leave of absence provided there is a reasonable expectation that she will return to work. The employee’s circumstances shall be reviewed periodically to determine whether such unpaid leave should continue based on their ability to return to work.
Unpaid Sick Leave. Unpaid sick leave is a short-term leave without pay for personal illness, or the illness of an immediate family member, or of any relative living in the household. Unpaid sick leave will be permitted for a maximum of 30 work days when all accumulated sick leave has been exhausted. Any unpaid leave under FMLA shall count toward this thirty (30) day limit.
Unpaid Sick Leave. Any teacher who has exhausted all of his/her accumulated paid sick leave shall be placed on unpaid sick leave for the duration of his/her illness, injury or other disability. The Board may terminate the employment relationship of the teacher after a paid and/or unpaid sick leave that has a duration greater than three (3) continuous calendar years. • The Board shall not terminate any teacher if said termination would result in the termination of the teacher's long-term disability benefits.
Unpaid Sick Leave. As of April 2001, aAny continuous employee (i.e., not a new employee on probation) who has used up all his/her sick leave credits as per Article 19.1, and is required to be absent from work due to illness or injury, is on a status of unpaid sick leave. The entitlement to use sick leave to care for an immediate family member does not apply to unpaid sick leave. The following are the conditions that apply to unpaid sick leave:
Unpaid Sick Leave. For absence beyond accumulated sick leave, a deduction of the equivalent unearned salary will be made.
Unpaid Sick Leave. 1. Any employee whose personal illness extends beyond the period compensable as Xxxx Xxxx Leave shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for reasons of health, or member assistance as described in Section 1A.2.f., not to exceed one (1) year beyond exhaustion of Paid Sick Leave. Extensions of such leave may be granted by the Board upon written request of the employee. An employee anticipating extended illness may be granted such leave prior to the expiration of accumulated Paid Sick Leave and upon returning from Unpaid Sick Leave will have the unused portion of their Paid Sick Leave reinstated. Fringe benefits to the employee shall continue for up to four (4)
Unpaid Sick Leave. Employees shall be granted extended sick leave of absence without pay of up to six (6) months with up to one (1) year of services, and twelve (12) months if over one (1) year of service, beyond the paid sick leave entitlement provided in Article 11.01, during periods of lengthy illness or disability as certified by a medical doctor. During that period of leave beyond the paid sick leave entitlement, seniority will be retained.
Unpaid Sick Leave. An employee who has exhausted his/her paid sick leave shall be placed on unpaid sick leave for the duration of his/her illness, injury or other disability. The Board may terminate the employment relationship of the employee after a paid and/or unpaid sick leave that has a duration greater than thirty-six (36) months.
Unpaid Sick Leave. Teachers who have exhausted accumulated sick leave may be granted unpaid sick leave at the discretion of the Board.
