Warning Devices. Vehicles and plant operating on the works shall be equipped with rotating amber flashing lights. All lights shall be visible at all times and from all sides. The flashing lights shall be on at all times when the vehicles and plant are used on the site.

Warning Devices. Add the following: “It is a requirement of this contract that all construction vehicles and plant used on the works will be equipped with rotating amber flashing lights and warning boards as specified in the standard specifications. Construction vehicles travelling outside the limits of construction areas shall however, not operate the warning lights. The warning lights shall have a base diameter of at least 170mm and the amber bulb cover a height of a least 150mm high. It shall be a requirement that the contractor also provides the engineer’s site personnel with warning lights for their vehicles as specified in section 1400.

All vehicles and plant, before being allowed onto the site, shall obtain a clearance permit from the Employers Agent. Rotating lights shall have an amber lens of minimum height of 200 mm and shall be mounted in such a way as to be highly visible from all directions. The lights on construction vehicles shall not be switched on while vehicles are being operated on unrestricted sections of a public road, but shall be switched on while construction vehicles are operating within the accommodation of traffic area, as the vehicles decelerate to enter a construction area, or as the vehicles accelerate to the general speed when entering the road from a construction area. Lights on plant shall operate continuously while the plant is working alongside sections of road open to public traffic All LDV's and cars operating on site shall also be equipped with rotating amber flashing lights which shall be placed so as to be highly visible and operated continuously while the vehicles are manoeuvring in or out of traffic or is travelling or parked alongside roads open to public traffic. Rotating lights and the "Maintenance Vehicle" signs on the Contractor's and Employers Agent’s vehicles and plant shall not be paid for separately. The Contractor shall apply and maintain lights together with temporary mounting brackets, to the approval of the Employers Agent. Vehicles and plant that do not comply with these requirements shall not enter the site. Add the following sub-clauses:
Warning Devices. Subject to clause 10.4(h), the Grantee will, at its cost, maintain the right of way and level crossing and any warning devices provided for the protection of public safety.
Warning Devices. Valley District shall furnish, erect and maintain fences, barriers, lights, signs and provide flag-persons or guards as are reasonably necessary to protect persons and property from the construction of the facilities under this Agreement.
