Welsh Language. The Board shall seek to comply with the principles of the Welsh Language Xxx 0000, the Welsh Language Measure 2011 and adhere to the relevant requirements of the Council’s current Welsh Language Scheme; a copy of which can be requested from the Authorised Representative. Guidance about providing services and written materials in Welsh can be obtained from the Welsh Language Commissioner on 0845 6033 221 or by visiting xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx The Board shall have in place and operate an up-to-date Welsh Language Policy. The Board shall take all reasonable and practicable steps to deliver the Service to the Service User in the language medium of the Service User’s choice.

Welsh Language. 5.6.2.1. The preparation of the RLDP and all engagement with stakeholders and the public will be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Welsh language standards and the Welsh Language Standards Regulations 2015 • The Authority welcomes correspondence in Welsh or English and will deal with Welsh and English correspondence to the same standards and timescales; • Correspondents will receive a reply in the language of the original correspondence; • All forms, consultation documents (excluding technical documents), publicity materials and correspondence will be bilingual; and • All meetings, whether formal or informal, will be conducted bilingually where requested beforehand.

Welsh Language. (a) The Subcontractor shall ensure that all of the Services provided by or on behalf of the Contractor in Wales will operate within the requirements of the Welsh Language Scheme. The Subcontractor shall, at all times during the Contract Period, comply with the principles of the Authority's Welsh Language Scheme at no cost to the Contractor, specifically in relation to provision of written material in a bilingual format and access to Welsh-speaking authorised employees. (b) For the purposes of this Clause 24.12, the Welsh Language Scheme means the scheme issued in writing by the Authority from time to time which can be found on the Authority Website.
Welsh Language. 3.7.1. The Welsh Language Standards were published by the Welsh Language Commissioner as a set of legally binding requirements that have applied from the 30th March 2016. The principal aim of the Welsh Language Standards is to ensure that Welsh is not treated less favourably than English, thus ensuring greater consistency in Welsh Language services. The Standards therefore allow individuals to access services via the medium of Welsh, English or bilingually. The Council published Strategaeth Hybu’s Gymraeg/Welsh Language Promotion Strategy in September 2016, which alongside the Standards, will be adhered to at each stage of the plan-making process.
Welsh Language. 43. Where the Contractor provides medical services under the Contract through the medium of Welsh, it must notify the LHB in writing. 44. The Contractor shall make available a Welsh language version of any document or form for use by patients and/or members of the public, provided by the LHB. 45. Where the Contractor displays a new sign or notice in connection with medical services provided under the Contract, the text on the sign or notice must be in English and Welsh, and the Contractor may utilise the translation service offered by the LHB for this purpose. 46. The Contractor shall encourage the wearing of a badge, provided by the LHB, by those delivering medical services under the Contract who are Welsh speaking, to convey that they are able to speak Welsh. 47. The Contractor shall encourage those delivering medical services under the Contract to utilise information and/or attend training courses and events provided by the LHB, so that they can develop: 47.1 an awareness of the Welsh language (including awareness of its history and its role in Welsh culture); and 47.2 an understanding of how the Welsh language can be used when delivering medical services under the Contract. 48. The Contractor shall encourage those delivering medical services under the Contract to establish and record the Welsh or English language preference expressed by or on behalf of a patient.

Welsh Language. The Welsh language is a living language across our ten rural towns and our communities and is a fundamental part of many of our businesses, not only in the workplace but while creating products and providing services. It’s an integral part of the business offer. According to the Welsh Language Commissioner’s research paper, ‘Welsh in the shopping basket’, 68% of consumers like seeing the use of the language within business. The language is seen as a viable service that can be of advantage to local businesses. Carmarthenshire County Council also holds a statutory responsibility to provide services and promote the Language through the Welsh language Standards. We must provide opportunities for persons to use the Welsh language and ensure that the Language is treated no less favourably than the English language. Responsibilities also include bilingual information, marketing, and internal /external signage. Wherever possible public documents will be published bilingually, although where they are technical in nature and of limited public interest the need for the document to be bilingual will be reviewed.
