Working Files. Principal's working files shall be purged at the end of each school year or no later than June 30.

Working Files. Administrators may keep a “working file” regarding a teacher with the following provisions: a. The teacher must be notified of the existence of the file. b. Teachers may review the complete contents of any “working file” upon request and may make copies of any contents. c. Materials found to be false or inaccurate must be removed from the “working file”. d. At the end of each school year the contents of all “working files” will be destroyed or placed in the teacher’s District personnel file in accordance with the provisions of Article III, Section G of this contract. Upon request, a teacher may seek to review the working file for that teacher annually. A teacher is entitled to receive a copy of any documentation placed in his/her file that contains information that may be detrimental to the teacher.

Working files may be used to store all notes and work product of the immediate supervisor for an indefinite period of time, except as follows: a. Materials developed for a faculty member’s evaluation, such as goals and objectives, observation data, and summaries of conferences will be shared with the faculty member, and when appropriate placed in the official personnel file. If relevant and timely, such materials may be transferred to a new immediate supervisor. b. Other materials given to the immediate supervisor for his/her information and which may require further investigation will, within 50 working days, either be placed in the official personnel file of the affected faculty member or destroyed. 2. Working files are confidential to the immediate supervisor or designee and the affected faculty member and will not be shared with anyone except: a. To discuss concerns with human resource personnel, or b. To rebut new information introduced by a faculty member in any proceeding, or c. If made part of the official personnel file in a timely manner and as set forth in this Article. 3. Materials from individual working files may not be utilized in any proceedings unless placed in the personnel files of the faculty member as set forth in this Section.
Working Files. The District shall not base any action against an employee on materials contained in a supervisor's casual working file which are not also entered in the employee's personnel file. Working files are to be viewed as conveniences of the supervisor only, and have no legal existence.
