Worksite Closure. (a) Where the Employer closes a worksite or discontinues a program, the Employer will consult with the Union. Following consultations, where the Employer offers positions to all or part of the staff affected, the following will apply: (1) Employees who accept a position and are placed in a lower classification will not have their salary reduced for a period of three months. (2) If the downward classification lasts longer than three months, no employee will suffer more than 10% reduction in their basic pay. (b) An employee who is classified downward as per (2) above will be offered, in order of seniority, the first vacancy in their former classification with the equivalent number of hours, or less, that they were working prior to their layoff, prior to the application of the recall provision.
