Common use of Written Stage Clause in Contracts

Written Stage. Failing settlement of the grievance at Step 1, the Union may reduce the grievance to writing and submit it to the Department Manager within five (5) working days from the date of the Supervisors reply at Step 1. At the subsequent Step 2 grievance meeting, the employee shall have the assistance of a xxxxxxx. Such written grievance shall be signed by the Union and state the nature of the grievance on the appropriate grievance form. The Department Manager, or his/her designee, shall respond to the grievance in writing within five (5) working days from the receipt of the grievance.

Such written grievance shall be signed by the Union griever and state the nature specific clauses of the grievance on Agreement allegedly violated and the appropriate grievance formredress sought.
