Common use of Written Stage Clause in Contracts

Written Stage. Failing settlement of the grievance at Step 1, the employee or the Union may reduce the grievance to writing, and submit it to the Vice President or Senior Editor, as the case may be, or their designate, within seven (7) working days from the date of the Supervisor's reply at Step 1. Such written grievance shall be signed by the grievor and state the clauses of the Agreement allegedly violated and the redress sought. At the Step 2 meeting to discuss the grievance, the employee shall have the assistance of a Xxxxxxx. The Vice President or Senior Editor, or their designate, shall respond to the grievance within five (5) working days from the date of the Step 2 meeting. Following the decision at Step 2 and prior to the submission of the Grievance to Step 3, the Union may amend the grievance.
