Common use of Written Step Clause in Contracts

Written Step. The employee concerned and/or a xxxxxxx must submit the grievance in writing to the person designated by the Company within the ten (10) working days following knowledge of the facts or the decision leading to the grievance. The grievance form must be signed by the employee. In the event where a grievance is submitted to the written step in conformity with the present clause, and where the verbal step was not completed, the employee must ensure that he complies with the verbal step in the two (2) working days following notification by the Company. During these two (2) working days, the time limits set out in the written step will be suspended. At a monthly meeting established between the parties, the Company will meet with the Union to discuss and attempt to resolve the grievance.
