Any holiday observed by the County that falls on a Saturday is observed on the preceding Friday, and any holiday that falls on a Sunday is observed on the following Monday. 2. For employees in the Health Services Department who are assigned to units or services on a shift operational cycle that includes Saturdays and Sundays, holidays are observed on the day that the holiday falls regardless if it is a Saturday or Sunday. 3. For employees who work in twenty-four (24) hour facilities other than in the Health Services Department and who may be assigned to work on a holiday, any holiday that falls on a Saturday will be observed on a Saturday, and any holiday that falls on a Sunday will be observed on a Sunday.
