Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome definition

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome means the meanings assigned to it by the World Health Organization. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome shall include HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), encephalopathy (dementia), HIV Wasting Syndrome, and ARC (AIDS Related Complex).
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or "AIDS" has the meaning assigned to it by the World Health Organization including Opportunistic Infection, Malignant Neoplasm, Human Immune Deficiency Virus (HIV), Encephalopathy (Dementia), HIV Wasting Syndrome or any disease or sickness in the presence of a sero-positive test for HIV. Opportunistic Infection shall include but not be limited to pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, organism of chronic enteritis, virus and/or disseminated fungi infection. Malignant Neoplasm shall include but not be limited to Kaposi's sarcoma, central nervous system lymphoma and/or other malignancies now known or which become known as immediate causes of death, an illness, or disability, in the presence of Acquired Immune Deficiency. "Activities of Daily Living" as stated on this Policy shall have the following meanings:
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or “AIDS” means a person who is living with HIV and has a CD4 (T-cell) count below 200 or more OR one or more opportunistic infections.

  • During the performance of this Agreement, Contractor and its Subcontractors shall not unlawfully discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or HIV status (AIDS/HIV status), medical condition, marital status, age (over 40), sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or domestic partner status.
