Artesian Aquifer definition

Artesian Aquifer means a water-bearing stratum, which when encountered during drilling operations, produces a pressurized flow of groundwater that reaches an elevation above the ground surface;
Artesian Aquifer means a Water-bearing rock stratum which, when encountered during drilling operations, produces a pressurized flow of groundwater that reaches an elevation above the Water table or above the ground surface.
Artesian Aquifer means a confined aquifer in which groundwater is under sufficient head to rise above the level at which it was first encountered whether or not the water flows at land surface. If the water level stands above land surface the well is a flowing artesian well. (Figure 240-1).

Examples of Artesian Aquifer in a sentence

  • Artesian Aquifer: an aquifer that is bound above and below by impermeable material or materials or distinctly lower permeability than the aquifer itself.

  • Artesian Aquifer Vulnerability- Groundwater (HE Findings #12)• If punctured during construction, could impact site constructability, worker safety, and off-site drainage concerns.• Limit bore testing holes (only 2), eight needed.• Lack of analysis of impacts to on-site wetlands including SW corner.After the HE decision, the Robinson Noble Hydrology Report prepared documentation that 8 borings were completed, including local well data in the report dated June 04, 2021.

  • Waiwhetu Artesian Aquifer Artesian pressure measured at the McEwan Park monitoring bore has been above average for the last three months.

  • The recovery wells are screened the full thickness of the Shallow Artesian Aquifer, approximately 21 to 31 feet below the ground surface.
