Assault and Battery definition

Assault and Battery means the combination of an “Assault” and a “Battery”.
Assault and Battery means directly or indirectly touching another with intent to harm that person or to cause offense, or by offering violence causing another to harm himself. In order to show an assault and battery, there is no requirement that the touching result in pain, bruises, or breaking of the skin;
Assault and Battery means unlawful touching or physical contact or the threat thereof, including negligent failure to suppress or prevent such acts.

  • Assault; Assault and Battery- An assault is a threat of bodily injury.

Related to Assault and Battery

  • Assault means the causing of physical harm to a bargaining unit member by any person when such employee charges such person with an offense prohibited by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 29.

  • Radionuclide means a radioactive element or a radioactive isotope.

  • Antipsychotic medications means that class of drugs

  • Game animals means wild animals that shall not be hunted

  • aerodrome means a defined area on land or water (including any buildings, installations and equipment) intended to be used either wholly or in part for the arrival, departure and surface movement of aircraft;

  • Positive Behavioral Theory and Practice means a proactive approach to individual behavior and behavior interventions that:

  • Commercial Fishing Worker means Commercial fishing worker as defined in Section 420.503, F.S.

  • COVID-19 symptoms means fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea, unless a licensed health care professional determines the person’s symptoms were caused by a known condition other than COVID-19.

  • Adult motel means a hotel, motel or similar commercial establishment which:

  • Hostile environment means a situation in which bullying among students is sufficiently severe or pervasive to alter the conditions of the school climate;

  • Catastrophic injury or illness means a life-threatening injury or illness of an employee or a member of an employee's immediate family that totally incapacitates the employee from work, as verified by a licensed physician, and forces the employee to exhaust all leave time earned by that employee, resulting in the loss of compensation from the state for the employee. Conditions that are short-term in nature, including, but not limited to, common illnesses such as influenza and the measles, and common injuries, are not catastrophic. Chronic illnesses or injuries, such as cancer or major surgery, that result in intermittent absences from work and that are long-term in nature and require long recuperation periods may be considered catastrophic.

  • Cyanoacrylate adhesive means any adhesive with a cyanoacrylate content of at least 95% by weight.

  • Leak of UPSI means communication of information which is/deemed to be UPSI by any person, who is in possession of UPSI, to any other person, directly or indirectly, overtly or covertly or in any manner whatsoever, except for legitimate purposes, performance of duties or discharge of legal obligations.

  • Chronic toxicity means concurrent and delayed adverse effects that occur only as a result of a chronic exposure.

  • manoeuvring area means that part of an aerodrome to be used for the take-off, landing and taxiing of aircraft, excluding aprons;

  • Intimidating, threatening, abusive, or harming conduct means, but is not limited to, conduct that does the following:

  • Knowing and "knowingly" means that a person is in possession of facts under which he or she is aware or should be aware of the nature of his or her conduct and that his or her conduct is substantially certain to cause the payment of a medicaid benefit. Knowing or knowingly includes acting in deliberate ignorance of the truth or falsity of facts or acting in reckless disregard of the truth or falsity of facts. Proof of specific intent to defraud is not required.

  • Aggravated circumstances means circumstances in which a parent:

  • Electrostatic spray means a method of applying a spray coating in which opposite electric charges are applied to the substrate and the coating. The coating is attracted to the substrate by the electrostatic potential between them.

  • Weapons means an instrument or device of any kind that is used or designed to be used to inflict harm including, but not limited to, rifles, handguns, shotguns, antique fire- arms, knives, swords, bows and arrows, BB guns, pellet guns, air rifles, electronic or other stun devices, or fighting imple- ments.
