Base CPI definition

Base CPI means as set out in paragraph 36 hereof.
Base CPI means 76.82258 being the Reference CPI for the R202 on its Issue Date of 20 August 2003. The new rebased CPI is 60.63344 in terms of the SENS Announcement dated 28 February 2013 published by the JSE Limited.
Base CPI means 122.64838 being the Reference CPI for the I2038 on its Issue Date of 4 July 2012. The new rebased CPI is 96.80219 in terms of the SENS Announcement dated 28 February 2013 published by the JSE Limited.

Examples of Base CPI in a sentence

  • If the Adjustment CPI exceeds Base CPI, the difference is the "CPI Increase." The CPI Increase shall be divided by the Base CPI and the numeral 1 shall be added to that quotient with the resulting number being the “CPI Index”.

  • The CPI for the month which is sixty three (63) months prior to the first month for which the increase is being calculated shall be the Base CPI for the purpose of the rent adjustment.

  • Such increase shall not exceed, as a percentage, one half (1/2) of the percentage by which the Current CPI Index increased from the Base CPI Index.

  • If the increase rate of each annual CPI compared to the Base CPI is higher than 3%, the Exercise Price will be raised by the difference between the such increase rate and 3% (for example, if in a given year the rate of the CPI increase compared to the Base CPI was 5%, the Exercise Price will raise by 2%).

  • If such change is merely to redefine the base year for the CPIU from 1967 to another year, the parties shall continue to use the CPIU but shall, if necessary, convert either the Base CPI Index or the Current CPI Index to the same basis as the other by multiplying such index by the appropriate conversion factor.
