Board certified definition

Board certified means certified to practice in a particular medical specialty by a national board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.
Board certified or "board-certified" means that a physi- cian has been certified by the appropriate specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. For the purposes of this chapter, references to "board certified" include physicians who are board-qualified.
Board certified means the physician is currently certified by one of the medical specialty boards approved by either the American board of medical specialties or the American osteopathic board of osteopathic specialties.

  • The Custodian may receive and accept a copy of a vote of the Board, certified by the secretary or an assistant secretary of the applicable Fund, as conclusive evidence (a) of the authority of any person to act in accordance with such vote or (b) of any determination or of any action by the Board described in such vote, and such vote may be considered as in full force and effect until receipt by the Custodian of written notice to the contrary.
