Certified pool operator means someone who has successfully completed the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) course sanctioned by the National Swimming Pool Foundation, the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) course sanctioned by the National Recreation and Park Association, or an equivalent course approved by the department.
