Child protective services assessment. (CPS assessment) means an investigation into a report of child abuse or neglect pursuant to ORS 419B.020 that includes activities and interventions to identify and analyze threats to child safety, determine if there is reasonable cause to believe child abuse or neglect occurred, and assure child safety through protective action plans, initial safety plans, or ongoing safety planning.
