CHP Facility definition

CHP Facility means a Generating Facility that (a) is a Qualifying Cogeneration Facility, (b) meets the definition of “cogeneration” under CPUC Code Section 216.6, and (c) satisfies the Greenhouse Gas emissions performance standards set forth in CPUC Code Section 8341 (California Senate Bill 1368).
CHP Facility means a Qualifying Cogeneration Facility that sequentially uses natural gas energy for the production of electric energy and Useful Thermal Energy Output for industrial, commercial, heating or cooling purposes and, if such Qualifying Cogeneration Facility is:
CHP Facility means a Qualifying Cogeneration Facility that sequentially uses natural gas energy for the production of electric energy and Useful Thermal Energy Output for industrial, commercial, heating or cooling purposes and, if such Qualifying Cogeneration Facility is: A “topping cycle cogeneration facility”, as defined in 18 CFR Part 292, Section 292.202(d), then throughout the Term, the Site Host consumes, consistent with California Public Utility Code Section 218(b), at least 75% of the total electric energy produced by such cogeneration facility; or A “bottoming cycle cogeneration facility”, as defined in 18 CFR Part 292, Section 292.202(e), then, throughout the Term, the Site Host must consume, consistent with California Public Utility Code Section 218(b), at least 25% of the total electric energy produced by the Generating Facility; and Either a topping cycle cogeneration facility or a bottoming cycle cogeneration facility with supplemental firing, then such cogeneration facility meets a 60% efficiency standard, calculated per Term Year as follows: For a topping cycle cogeneration facility, by dividing the total 12-month Useful Thermal Energy Output and total electric energy output of the Generating Facility by the total annual fuel use, based on Higher Heating Value; and For a bottoming cycle cogeneration facility, by dividing the total 12-month Useful Thermal Energy Output and total electric energy output of the Generating Facility by the total annual supplemental fuel use, based on Higher Heating Value of the supplemental fuel. No efficiency requirement applies if the Qualifying Cogeneration Facility is a bottoming cycle cogeneration facility without supplemental firing.

Examples of CHP Facility in a sentence

  • If the Generating Facility is (a) a New Eligible CHP Facility, the Term Start Date must occur within 18 months of the Effective Date, or (b) an Existing Eligible CHP Facility, the Term Start Date must occur within 6 months of the Effective Date.
