Converted Dwelling definition

Converted Dwelling means a building on a lot originally designed, intended and used as a one-family dwelling which has been lawfully altered or converted so as to provide two (2) or more dwelling units, none of which is located in the cellar.
Converted Dwelling means an existing dwelling constructed as a single, semi- detached, duplex, or triplex dwelling on an existing lot in which the number of dwelling units has been increased without significant alteration to the exterior of the building except for the required fire escapes, extra windows and entrances to a maximum of 10 percent (10%) of the dwelling or 30.0 square metres (323 square feet), whichever is the lesser, and provided that the building, when converted, complies with the provisions of the Building By-Law and the parking provisions of this By-Law.
