  • Specialty drug means a prescription drug that:

  • Covered Species means the species for which the Bank has been established and for which Credits have been allocated as set forth in Exhibit F-1.

  • Specialty Drugs means high-cost injectables, infused, oral, or inhaled Prescription Drugs for the ongoing treatment of a chronic condition, including but not limited to, the following: Hemophilia, Hepatitis C, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis, Crohn’s Disease, Cancer (oral medications), and Growth Hormones. These Prescription Drugs usually require specialized handling (such as refrigeration). Spouse means a person of the same or opposite sex who is legally married to Subscriber under the laws of the state or jurisdiction in which the marriage took place. A marriage legally entered into in another jurisdiction will be recognized as a marriage in the District of Columbia.

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.

  • Area of Specialty means the description of an MBE or WBE firm’s business which has been determined by the Chief Procurement Officer to be most reflective of the MBE or WBE firm’s claimed specialty or expertise. Each MBE/WBE letter of certification contains a description of the firm’s Area of Specialty. This information is also contained in the Directory (defined below). Credit toward this Contract’s MBE and WBE participation goals shall be limited to the participation of firms performing within their Area of Specialty.

  • Home improvement contractor or "contractor" means a person who sells goods and services, or agrees to furnish or render services, to a retail buyer pursuant to a home improvement installment contract, or sells goods and services to a retail buyer pursuant to a home improvement charge agreement, but not in connection with construction of new homes.

  • chemical tanker means a ship constructed or adapted and used for the carriage in bulk of any liquid product listed in chapter 17 of the International Bulk Chemical Code;

  • Quality improvement organization or “QIO” shall mean the organization that performs medical peer review of Medicaid claims, including review of validity of hospital diagnosis and procedure coding information; completeness, adequacy and quality of care; appropriateness of admission, discharge and transfer; and appropriateness of prospective payment outlier cases. These activities undertaken by the QIO may be included in a contractual relationship with the Iowa Medicaid enterprise.

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Cosmetic Surgery means any Surgery, service, Drug or supply designed to improve the appearance of an individual by alteration of a physical characteristic which is within the broad range of normal but which may be considered unpleasing or unsightly, except when necessitated by an Injury.

  • Emergency Medical Transportation means the transportation, by ambulance, of sick, injured or otherwise incapacitated persons who require emergency medical care.

  • Area of special flood hazard means the land in the floodplain within a community subject to a one percent or greater chance of flooding in any given year.

  • Chemical dependency professional means a person certified as a chemical dependency professional by the department of health under chapter 18.205 RCW.

  • Invasive plant species means species of plants not historically found in California that spread outside cultivated areas and can damage environmental or economic resources. Invasive species may be regulated by county agricultural agencies as noxious species. Lists of invasive plants are maintained at the California Invasive Plant Inventory and USDA invasive and noxious weeds database.

  • Stormwater management planning area means the geographic area for which a stormwater management planning agency is authorized to prepare stormwater management plans, or a specific portion of that area identified in a stormwater management plan prepared by that agency.

  • Specialty contractor means a person who is licensed to conduct business as described in subsection 4 of NRS 624.215.

  • Universal waste transporter means a person engaged in the off-site transportation of universal waste by air, rail, highway, or water.

  • Clinical laboratory means a facility for the microbiological, serological, chemical, hematological, radiobioassay, cytological, immunohematological, pathological, or other examination of materials derived from the human body for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease or assessment of a medical condition.

  • Health professional shortage area means that term as defined in section 332(a)(1) of subpart II of part C of title III of the public health service act, chapter 373, 90 Stat. 2270, 42 U.S.C. 254e.

  • Iatrogenic infertility means an impairment of fertility by surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or other medical treatment affecting reproductive organs or processes.

  • Residential child care facility means a twenty-four-hour residential facility where children live together with or are supervised by adults who are not their parents or relatives;
