Teams may use allocations to buy down the Salary Budget Number of a Designated Player, consistent with the Competition Guidelines on allocation buy-downs, as amended from time-to- time.
The League may reduce or eliminate such third Designated Player annual payments in its discretion, provided that it replaces the amounts that are reduced or eliminated with new allocations that may be used consistent with the other non-targeted allocations in this agreement (e.g., “Failure to Make the Playoffs” allocation) and the Competition Guidelines (i.e., such new allocations may be used to buy down a Player’s Salary Budget Charge).
The third Designated Player payments shall be split among Teams with two or fewer ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ as allocation pursuant to the Competition Guidelines.
A Team that has a third Designated Player shall make an annual payment of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to the League for each season that it carries three (3) ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the foregoing, a Designated Player Rookie Salary Scale Extension must provide for annual increases in Salary for each Season following the first Season of the extended term equal to seven and one- half percent (7.5%) of Salary for the Salary Cap Year covered by the extended term.
Any such Rookie Scale Extension (including any such Designated Player Rookie Scale Extension) shall be deemed amended on the day following the last day of the Moratorium Period of the Salary Cap Year covering the first Season of the extended term to provide for specific Salaries for each Season of the extended term, based on the Maximum Annual Salary applicable to such player on the day following the last day of the Moratorium Period.
