Emergency Custody Order definition

Emergency Custody Order. An order, pursuant to §§ 37.2-800 through 37.2-847 (adults) and §§ 16.1-340 through 16.1-361 (minors) of the Code of Virginia , issued by a magistrate that requires any person in the magistrate’s judicial district who is incapable of volunteering or unwilling to volunteer for treatment, or in the case of a minor pursuant to §16.1-340, to be taken into custody and transported for an evaluation in order to assess the need for temporary detention order and to assess the need for hospitalization or treatment.

  • Emergency Custody Order (ECO) – An emergency custody order issued by the court on the basis of a complaint or motion that alleges facts that demonstrate a child to be at imminent risk of harm.

  • Levy Order means an Order made by the Commission under paragraph 16 of the Schedule to the Act.

  • Emergency call means a telephone request or text message request for service which requires immediate action to prevent loss of life, reduce bodily injury, prevent or reduce loss of property and respond to other emergency situations determined by local policy.

  • Emergency vehicle means emergency vehicles of municipal, township or county departments or public utility corporations when identified as such as required by law, the Ohio Director of Public Safety or local authorities, and motor vehicles when commandeered by a police officer. (ORC 4511.01(D))

  • Emergency responder means an individual who is required to possess a license, certificate, permit, or other official recognition for his or her expertise in a particular field or area of knowledge and whose assistance is utilized or is desirable during an emergency. Emergency responder includes, but is not limited to, emergency medical services personnel; physicians; nurses; mental health, veterinary, or other public health practitioners; emergency management personnel; public works personnel; and firefighters, including firefighters trained in the areas of hazardous materials, specialized rescue, extrication, water rescue, or other specialized area. Emergency responder does not include law enforcement officers or other law enforcement personnel.

  • Bankruptcy Order means any court order made in a proceeding pursuant to or within the meaning of any Bankruptcy Law, containing an adjudication of bankruptcy or insolvency, or providing for liquidation, winding-up, dissolution or reorganization, or appointing a Custodian of a debtor or of all or any substantial part of a debtor’s property, or providing for the staying, arrangement, adjustment or compromise of indebtedness or other relief of a debtor.

  • Emergency Medical Transportation means the transportation, by ambulance, of sick, injured or otherwise incapacitated persons who require emergency medical care.

  • Emergency services means, with respect to an Emergency Medical Condition:

  • Emergency medical services or “EMS” means an integrated medical care delivery system to provide emergency and nonemergency medical care at the scene or during out-of-hospital patient transportation in an ambulance.
