The 'For Treatment' clause defines the permissible use of information or services specifically for the purpose of providing medical care or treatment to individuals. In practice, this clause typically allows healthcare providers to access, use, or share patient information as necessary to diagnose, treat, or manage a patient's health condition. By clearly specifying that information may be used or disclosed for treatment purposes, the clause ensures that patient care is not hindered by privacy restrictions, while still maintaining appropriate boundaries on the use of sensitive information.
For Treatment. I can use your PHI within my practice to provide you with mental health treatment, including discussing or sharing your PHI with my trainees and interns. I may disclose your PHI to physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other licensed health care providers who provide you with health care services or are otherwise involved in your care. Example: If a psychiatrist is treating you, I may disclose your PHI to her/him in order to coordinate your care.
For Treatment. We may use medical information about you to provide you with medical treatment or services. We may disclose medical information about you to doctors, nurses, technicians, medical students or other Practice or Facility personnel who are involved in your care. Different departments of the Practice or Facility also may share medical information about you in order to coordinate the different services you may need, such as prescriptions, lab work and imaging services. We also may disclose medical information about you to people outside the Practice or Facility who may be involved in your medical care.
For Treatment. We may use and disclose Health Information for your treatment and to provide you with treatment- related health care services. For example, we may disclose Health Information to doctors, nurses, technicians, or other personnel, including people outside our office, who are involved in your medical care and need the information to provide you with medical care. Information obtained from your physician may be used to dispense prescription medications to you.

Payment means both the activities undertaken by a healthcare provider or health plan to obtain or provide reimbursement for the provision of health care; and by a health plan to obtain premiums or to determine or fulfill its responsibility for coverage and provision of benefits under the health plan.
