Work areas and hazardous zonesTo better define the scope of intervention and the relevant work zones, the following classification is provided:• Dangerous zone: any zone within and/or in proximity to a machine in which the presence of an exposed per- son constitutes a risk in terms of the health and safety of such a person;• Exposed person: any person that is found wholly or partly in a dangerous zone.
Any individual who sustains an exposure incident will proceed as indicated in the following guidelines:STEP 1: Wash the exposed area immediatelySTEP 2: Inform his/her instructor/supervisor of the incidentSTEP 3: Report to the healthcare provider of choiceSTEP 4: Exposed person is responsible for cost of careSTEP 5: The Safety Officer or designee will investigate every exposure incident that occurs in our facilities.
Exposed person" means either of the following, whichever is applicable: (1) A person whose exposure to silica is the basis for a silicosis claim under section 2307.85 of the Revised Code; (2) A person whose exposure to mixed dust is the basis for a mixed dust disease claim under section 2307.86 of the Revised Code.
Front end staff should verify the identity of the person and seek information about the sources of funds before accepting the PEP (Politically Exposed person) as customer.
