Politically Exposed Persons definition

Politically Exposed Persons means:
Politically Exposed Persons or ‛PEPs’ means individuals who are, or have been entrusted with prominent public functions in Bahrain or a foreign country, for example Heads of State or government, senior politicians, senior government, judicial or military officials, senior executives of state owned corporations or important political party officials or persons who are or have been entrusted with a prominent function by an international organisation. Business relationships with family members or close associates of PEPs involve reputational risks similar to PEPs themselves. The definition is not intended to cover middle-ranking or more junior officials in the foregoing categories. Bahraini PEPs would include all Ministers, all MPs, and all Ministry officials with the rank of Undersecretary or above.
Politically Exposed Persons means natural persons who are or have been entrusted with prominent public functions and immediate family members, or persons known to be close associates, of such persons;

More Definitions of Politically Exposed Persons

Politically Exposed Persons or “PEPs” are the natural persons who are or have been entrusted with prominent public functions and immediate family members, or persons known to be close associates, of such persons within 18 (eighteen) months prior to the date of opening of the relevant Account or the date of a Transaction to which any such person is a party, as further defined in Applicable Laws and Regulations;

Close relatives of politically exposed persons shall mean the spouses, domestic partners, children, adopted children, stepchildren, xxxxxx children, as well as the spouses and domestic partners thereof, the parents, adoptive parents, stepparents, xxxxxx parents and siblings thereof. Persons known to be close associates of the politically exposed person: - any natural person known to have joint beneficial ownership of legal entities or legal arrangements, or any other close business relations, with a politically exposed person, - any natural person who has sole beneficial ownership of a legal entity or an organisation without legal personality which is known to have been set up for the de facto benefit of a politically exposed person.
