GIS definition

GIS means a generation information system, generation attribute tracking system or other system that records generation from Renewable Energy Facilities in any particular geographical region, such as WREGIS, NEPOOL GIS, ERCOT, PJM EIS GATS, M-RETS, or, if applicable, an Independent System Operator or a Regional Transmission Organization.
GIS means the New England Power Pool Generation Information System or any successor thereto, which includes a generation information database and certificate system, operated by NEPOOL, its designee or successor entity, that accounts for generation attributes of electricity generated or consumed within New England.
