Home birth definition

Home birth means delivery of a newborn, outside a health care facility, when the newborn is not hospitalized within 72 hours of delivery.
Home birth for GU Health Policies means antenatal, delivery and postnatal care rendered by a registered midwife in private practice and may be considered part of an episode of hospitalisation, or hospital-substitute treatment as outlined in the Schedules.
Home birth means an attended birth at a private residence or a location other than a birthing center or hospital.
