Injury definition

Injury means accidental physical bodily harm excluding illness or disease solely and directly caused by external, violent and visible and evident means which is verified and certified by a Medical Practitioner.
Injury means any bodily damage (with or without a visible wound) solely caused by an Accident independent of any other causes.
Injury or “Injuries” means bodily harm caused by an Accident which: 1) occurs while Your coverage is in effect under the Policy; and 2) requires examination and treatment by a Legally Qualified Physician. The Injury must be the direct cause of loss and must be independent of all other causes and must not be caused by, or result from, Sickness.

Examples of Injury in a sentence

  • Compensation payable shall not exceed 52 weeks in respect of any one Injury calculated from the date the Person Insured were first examined by a Medical Practitioner.

  • Unless previous consent from Us has been obtained and the Policy has been endorsed accordingly, otherwise We will not cover in any event bodily Injury suffered by the Insured Person from engaging in (or practicing for or taking part in training peculiar to), - Racing of any kind (other than on foot) or trial of speed or reliability.

  • Illness or Injury arising from or in consequence of nuclear reaction, nuclear radiation or radioactive contamination.

  • This exclusion does not apply to Medically Necessary dental care covered under Accidental Dental Injury Services, Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate or Both or Oral Surgery in the List of Benefits in this section.


More Definitions of Injury

Injury means physical harm to an employee caused by accident or disease in the performance of duties by the employee.
Injury means death, bodily injury, illness or disease of or to any person.
Injury means accidental bodily harm sustained by a Covered Person that results directly and independently from all other causes from a Covered Accident. The Injury must be caused solely through external, violent, and accidental means. All injuries sustained by one person in any one Covered Accident, including all related conditions and recurrent symptoms of these injuries, are considered a single Injury.
Injury means bodily impairment resulting directly from an accident and independently of all other causes. For the purpose of determining benefits under this plan:
Injury means only injury by accident arising out of and in the course of the employment or
Injury means an Accidental Bodily Injury, which does not arise out of, which is not caused or contributed to by, and which is not a consequence of, any employment or occupation for compensation or profit.
Injury means any physical injury which requires professional medical treatment.
