Local public purchasing unit definition

Local public purchasing unit means any county, city, governmental entity and other subdivision of the Commonwealth or public agency thereof, public authority, public educational, health, or other institution, any other entity which expends public funds for the acquisition or leasing of supplies, services, and construction, and any nonprofit corporation operating a charitable hospital.
Local public purchasing unit. Means any political subdivision or public agency of any subdivision, public authority, and to the extent provided by law, any other entity which expends public funds for the acquisition of supplies, services, and construction. It includes two (2) or more local public purchasing units acting under legislation which authorizes intergovernmental cooperation. (3-20-97)

  • Public purchasing body means the State or the subdivision or agency making a public purchase. Government Code Section 4550.
