Local units of government definition

Local units of government means counties, townships, cities, villages or federally-recognized Indian tribes.
Local units of government means, according to Wis. Stat. § 23.24(4)(a)1, a “Local governmental unit”, which is a political subdivision of this state, a special purpose district in this state, an instrumentality or corporation of the political subdivision or special purpose district, or combination or subunit of any of the foregoing. This includes cities, villages, towns, counties, school districts, and technical college districts. This definition was published in the 2009-2010 Bill Drafting Manual published by the Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau.
Local units of government means towns, cities, villages, counties and tribal governments.
