Loss of or Loss of Use definition

Loss of or Loss of Use means the Permanent total functional disablement or complete and Permanent physical severance through or above the wrists or ankle joints, and as used with reference to eyes, shall mean the entire and irrecoverable loss of sight.
Loss of or Loss of Use means permanent and total loss of the use of the limb in terms of physical incapacity or disability in all aspects of daily living and not only in terms of professional or occupational incapacity or disability of the Insured Person.
Loss of or Loss of Use wherever used in this Policy shall mean permanent total functional disablement or complete and permanent severance through or above the wrist or ankle joints.

Related to Loss of or Loss of Use

  • Loss of Use means the total and irrecoverable loss of function of an arm, hand, foot, leg or thumb and index finger of the same hand provided such loss of function is continuous for 12 consecutive months and such loss of function is thereafter determined on evidence satisfactory to Chubb Life to be permanent.

  • Loss of Speech means the disability in articulating any three of the four sounds which contribute to the speech such as the Labial sounds, the Alveololabial sounds, the Palatal sounds and the Velar sounds or total loss of vocal cord or damage of speech center in the brain resulting in Aphasia.

  • Loss of Limb means loss by physical severance of a hand at or above the wrist or of a foot at or above the ankle.

  • Loss or Losses means all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs or expenses of whatever kind, including reasonable attorneys' fees and the costs of enforcing any right to indemnification hereunder and the cost of pursuing any insurance providers.

  • Loss or Damage means any loss or damage to the Vehicle, including that caused by theft of the Vehicle or by adverse weather events, that requires repair or replacement including the loss of use of the Vehicle (demurrage), legal expenses, assessment fees, towing and recovery costs, storage, service charges and any appraisal fees of the Vehicle;

  • Stand-Alone Test Environment or "SATE" shall have the meaning set forth in Section 12.2.9.3.2.

  • Loss of Hand or Foot means complete severance through or above the wrist or ankle joint. (In South Carolina, "Loss of Hand" can also mean the loss of four whole fingers from one hand.)

  • Material Damage and “Materially damaged” means damage (w) resulting in the Property not complying with all legal requirements applicable to the Property, (x) reasonably exceeding $300,000 or (y) that entitles any tenant of the Property to terminate its Lease, or (z) which, in Buyer’s or Seller’s reasonable estimation, will take longer than 120 days to repair.

  • Environmentally preferable products means a product or service that has a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose. Such products or services may include, but are not limited to, those which contain recycled content, minimize waste, conserve energy or water, and reduce the amount of toxics either disposed of or consumed.

  • Speech or language impairment means a communication disorder, such as stuttering, impaired articulation, a language impairment, or a voice impairment, that adversely affects a child’s educational performance.

  • Material Environmental Liabilities means Environmental Liabilities exceeding $500,000 in the aggregate.

  • Retained Environmental Liabilities means all Environmental Liabilities of Seller or its Affiliates arising out of or relating to operations or activities that are not primarily related to the Business, whether arising or related to the period before or after Closing.

  • Covered Environmental Losses means all environmental losses, damages, liabilities, claims, demands, causes of action, judgments, settlements, fines, penalties, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, costs and expenses of any Environmental Activity, court costs and reasonable attorney’s and experts’ fees) of any and every kind or character, by reason of or arising out of:

  • Environmental Damage means any material injury or damage to persons, living organisms or property or any material pollution or impairment of the environment resulting from the discharge, emission, escape or migration of any substance, energy, noise or vibration;

  • Natural environment means the air, land and water, or any combination or part thereof, of the Province of Ontario; (“environnement naturel”)

  • Loss of Sight means the entire, permanent and irrecoverable loss of sight.

  • Loss of an Eye, means total and irrevocable loss of sight in that eye.

  • Loss of Activities of Daily Living means that, due to an Injury or Sickness, the Insured Employee has lost the ability to safely and completely perform two or more of the following six Activities of Daily Living without another person's active, hands-on help with all or most of the activity.

  • Friable asbestos material means any material that contains more than 1% asbestos by weight and that can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to powder when dry, by hand pressure.

  • Processes with Significant Environmental Aspects means the Equipment which, during regular operation or if not properly operated or maintained, may cause or are likely to cause an adverse effect.

  • Operating Environment means, collectively, the platform, environment and conditions on, in or under which the Software is intended to be installed and operate, as set forth in the Statement of Work, including such structural, functional and other features, conditions and components as hardware, operating software and system architecture and configuration.

  • Excluded Environmental Liabilities means any and all Environmental Liabilities whether arising before, at or after the Effective Time, to the extent relating to, resulting from, or arising out of the past, present or future operation, conduct or actions of Xxxxxxx Retained Business.

  • Environmental Infrastructure System means the Environmental Infrastructure Facilities of the Borrower, including the Project, for which the Borrower is receiving the Loan.

  • Direct Damage has the meaning given to it in clause 26.2;

  • Hazardous substance UST system means an UST system that contains a hazardous substance defined in section 101(14) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (but not including any substance regulated as a hazardous waste under subtitle C) or any mixture of such substances and petroleum, and which is not a petroleum UST system.

  • Customer Environment means Customer’s data network/equipment and premises environment.
