Metal decking definition

Metal decking means a commercially manufactured, structural grade, cold-rolled metal panel formed into a series of parallel ribs. As used in this part, the term includes metal floor and roof decks, standing seam metal roofs, other metal roof systems, and other products, such as bar gratings, checker plate, expanded metal panels, and similar products. After installation and proper fastening, these decking materials serve a combination of functions, including, but not limited to any of the following:

After installation and proper fastening, these decking materials serve a combination of functions including, but not limited to: a structural element designed in combination with the structure to resist, distribute and transfer loads, stiffen the structure and provide a diaphragm action; a walking/working surface; a form for concrete slabs; a support for roofing systems; and a finished floor or roof.
Metal decking. Metal decking shall comply with SDI "Design Manual for Floor Decks and Roof Decks."

  • Freeboard means a factor of safety usually expressed in feet above a flood level for purposes of floodplain management.   • Mounting adhesive means an aerosol adhesive designed to permanently mount photographs, artwork, and any other drawn or printed media to a backing (paper, board, cloth, etc.) without causing discoloration to the artwork.

  • Single Phase Aerosol Air Freshener means an aerosol air freshener with the liquid contents in a single homogeneous phase and which does not require that the product container be shaken before use.

  • Tree means any object of natural growth.
