Motor Vehicle for Hire definition

Motor Vehicle for Hire means every type of privately owned motor vehicle, as defined in the Vehicle Code, which is available for hire and over which the City may exercise jurisdiction, except as otherwise specified in this Article.
Motor Vehicle for Hire means every type of privately owned motor vehicle, as defined in the Vehicle Code, which is available for hire and over which the City may exercise jurisdiction, except as otherwise specified in this Article 1100. For purposes of this Article, “Motor Vehicle for Hire” shall not include Non-Standard Vehicle as defined in Section 1202 of this Code.
Motor Vehicle for Hire means every motor vehicle other than jitneys, public buses, hearses, and motor vehicles used chiefly in connection with the conduct of funerals, to transport persons for compensation in any form, or motor vehicles rented for transporting persons either with or without furnishing an operator.

Motor Vehicle for Hire means any motor vehicle, animal-drawn vehicle, pedicab or other vehicle designed or used for the transportation of passengers for hire, the charges for the use of which are determined by agreement, mileage or by the length of time for which the vehicle Is engaged. The following are excluded from the definition of “motor vehicle for hire” under this Agreement:

  • Motor vehicle means land vehicles propelled other than by muscular power, such as automobiles, motorcycles, autocycles, and low speed vehicles. For the purposes of this definition, motor vehicle does not include farm equipment, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, motorized wheelchairs, go-carts, gas buggies, golf carts, ski-slope grooming machines, or vehicles that run only on rails or tracks.
