Outpatient health facility definition

Outpatient health facility means a facility where medical care and preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or palliative items or services are provided to outpatients by or under the direction of a physician or dentist.

Outpatient health facility means a facility that provides comprehensive primary health services by or under the direction of a physician at least five days per week on a forty-hour per week basis to outpatients, is operated by the board of health of a city or general health district or another public agency or by a nonprofit private agency or organization under the direction and control of a governing board that has no health-related responsibilities other than the direction and control of one or more such outpatient health facilities, and receives at least seventy-five per cent of its operating funds from public sources, except that it does not include an outpatient hospital facility or a federally qualified health center as defined in the "Social Security Act," section 1905(l)(2)(B), 42 U.S.C. 1396d(l)(2)(B).
