Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
12.08 (a) All paid holidays will be distributed as equally as possible amongst all employees. The final determination of the scheduling will remain with the Director of Care.
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) Unless an employee requests otherwise, when she or he is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule her or him to work the paid holiday.
(b) Unless an employee requests otherwise, when she or he is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(a) When a holiday falls within an employee’s vacation period, it shall be added to the end of her or his vacation or taken at a mutually agreeable time to the parties within 3 months of the holiday.
(b) If any of the above-mentioned paid holidays fall on an employee's regular day off, the employee, at her or his option may elect to receive a day's pay or may elect to receive an additional day off in lieu thereof. The additional day off will be as scheduled by the Employer within the two (2) week period immediately following the occurrence of the paid holiday, however, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule such additional day off in conjunction with scheduled week-ends off or vacation taken during the four (4) week period.

(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.

(a) Lieu days under this Article 12 cannot be banked in order to take them together except as provided herein. An employee may request to take two

(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
(a) A full-time employee shall submit a written request for a float holiday to the Administrator or designate at least two (2) weeks prior to the posting of the schedule. Requests for float holidays will be considered on a first come first served basis. Approval to take a float holiday will not be unreasonably denied.
(b) If a full-time employee has not taken their float day by December 5 within the same calendar year, they shall be paid for the holiday the first full pay period following December 5.

12.08 (a) Whenever possible, holidays will be scheduled off on a rotational basis.
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision. (Full-Time) Nurses shall be allowed to request up to five (5) lieu days off at a time. Requests for lieu days off shall not be unreasonably denied.
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
12.08 (a) Subject to the operational requirements of the home, a full time employee who qualifies for a lieu day with pay may elect to accumulate up to a maximum of three (3) lieu days in a calendar year. These may be taken singly, consecutively or added to her vacation. Such requests shall not be unreasonable denied. The accumulation of lieu days is subject to the following:
i) An employee who requests to take a lieu day must so notify the Director of Care or designate in writing at least one (1) week prior to the posting of the schedule in which the request is being made for.
ii) Lieu days cannot be carried over from year to year and must be taken by December 15th, with the exception of any lieu days earned for Christmas and Boxing Day. Any lieu days not used prior to December 15th will be paid to the employee no later than December 30th of the same year.
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
(b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
12.08 (a) Full-time nurses may bank to a maximum of three (3) holiday lieu days. Holiday lieu days may be taken as a block of three (3) days, which may be taken at a mutually agreeable time and the written request will not be unreasonably denied. The written request is to be submitted two (2) weeks prior to the posting of the schedule.

(b) When the Employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the Employee off the paid holiday.
(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
(d) Notwithstanding the foregoing, where an employee chooses to waive scheduling as per (a) or (b) and so notifies the employer prior to the posting of the schedule, the employer will endeavour to grant her preference provided that other employees are not adversely affected.
