Signage means advertising displays, hoardings, Glow signs, neon signs, LED signs, LCD signs, any digital signs, any sort of display intended to convey information and described in the schedule.
Awning Sign means a sign with copy painted or affixed flat to the surface of an awning which does not extend vertically or horizontally beyond the limits of such awning;
Awning means a sheet of canvas or other material, used as a protection against the weather, which projects as an extension of the roof beyond the structure of the stall.
Erect means to construct, build, raise, assemble, place, affix, attach, create, paint, draw, or in any other way bring into being or establish.
Flashing sign means a sign in which a symbol, figure, message or illustration intermittently appears and/or disappears and/or illuminated with varying colour or intensity.
Monument means a physical structure that occupies the exact position of a corner.

Billboard means a public display used to advertise, including:
Facade means the entire building wall including a parapet;
Plate means the license plate, including renewal decals, if any, issued for a vehicle registered under the plan by the base jurisdiction.
Parapet means a low wall or railing built along the edge of a roof or a floor;
Lobby means a covered space in which all the adjoining rooms open;
Furniture means articles of which wood, reeds, rattan, cane, seagrass or metal comprise the whole or part and such as are usually made or assembled by cabinet makers, assemblers in the furnishing trades, chair and couch makers, upholsterers, wood carvers, or wood turners; and
Label means a display of written, printed, or graphic matter upon the immediate container of any article. A requirement made by or under authority of this chapter that any word, statement, or other information appear on the label shall not be considered to be complied with unless such word, statement, or other information also appears on the outside container or wrapper, if any, of the retail package of such article or is easily legible through the outside container or wrapper.
Monument sign means a low-profile sign which is incorporated into the landscape or architectural design scheme where the sign is located.
Littering means putting litter in such a location that it falls, descends, blows, is washed, percolates or otherwise escapes or is likely to fall, descend blow, be washed, percolate or otherwise escape into or onto any public place, or causing, permitting or allowing litter to fall, descend, blow, washed, percolate or otherwise escape into or onto any public place.
Canopy sign means any sign that is a part of or attached to an awning, canopy, or other fabric, plastic or structural protective cover over a door, entrance, window or outdoor service area. A marquee is not a canopy.
Directory means the Directory of Certified "Minority Business Enterprises" and "Women Business Enterprises" maintained and published by the City of Chicago. The Directory identifies firms that have been certified as MBEs and WBEs, and includes both the date of their last certification and the area of specialty in which they have been certified. Contractors are responsible for verifying the current certification status of all proposed MBE, and WBE firms.
Interior means the spaces, parts, components or elements of an individual dwelling unit.
Logo means the SAP Partner logo as detailed in the SAP Partner Logo Usage Guidelines.
Install means the complete installation of any item, equipment or material.
Visible means capable of being seen, whether or not legible, without visual aid by a person of normal acuity.
Paint means any pigmented liquid, liquefiable, or mastic composition designed for application to a substrate in a thin layer which is converted to an opaque solid film after application and is used for protection, decoration or identification, or to serve some functional purpose such as the filling or concealing of surface irregularities or the modification of light and heat radiation characteristics.
Advertising sign means any surface or structure with characters, letters or illustrations applied there-to and displayed in any manner whatsoever outdoors for the purpose of advertising or giving information or to attract the public to any place, person, public performance, article, or merchandise, and which surface or structure is attached to, forms part of, or is connected with any building, or is fixed to the ground or to any pole, screen, fence or hoarding or displayed in space, or in or over any water body included in the jurisdiction of the Authority;
Glass means Internal Glass, External Glass and Specified Glass.
