Pre-Licensed Psychologist means an individual who has obtained a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and is registered with the Board of Psychology as a registered Psychology Intern or Psychological Assistant, acquiring hours for licensing and waivered in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code section 575.2. The waiver may not exceed five (5) years.

A student intern is a person enrolled in an accredited 4 graduate or undergraduate program accumulating supervised work experience hours as part of field 5 work, internship, or practicum requirements. Acceptable programs include all programs that assist the 6 student in meeting the educational requirements in becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, a 7 Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or a licensed Clinical Psychologist or to obtain a bachelors degree. 8 Persons with graduate degrees and who have two (2) years full-time experience in a mental health 9 setting, either post-degree or as part of the program leading to the graduate degree, shall not be 10 considered as students.
