Examples of Project Area Type in a sentence
Goal: Regardless of Project Area Type, and to the extent qualifying Projects are received, the Council will seek to fund one project per funding cycle to a Tribal Entity.
All Projects, regardless of Project Area Type, must demonstrate VMT reduction through fewer or shorter vehicle trips or through mode shift to transit use, bicycling, or walking within transit areas.
After designating funds to Projects that meet theProject Area Type funding targets, remaining available funds may beawarded to any eligible Project Area Type that meets the goals detailed in this section.

The Project Area Type funding goals, geographic goals, Tribal Entity goals, Priority Population statutory requirements and set asides, and funding targets are set forth in the Program Guidelines Section 108(h).
Note regarding geographic targets: The AHSC Draft Guidelines published for comment on January 29, 2021 included a sentence in Section 108(d)(4) that led to confusion among commenters as to whether awards are guaranteed in each region: “The Council will seek to fund one project, regardless of Project Area Type, in each of the eight geographies [stated within the guidelines].” This sentence is removed from the Final Guidelines to avoid confusion.
Transit systems that don’t meet this requirement would fall under the Integrated Connectivity Project Area Type (ICP) rather than a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Project Area Type, as defined in Section 102 (c)(1) and Appendix A (x).
