Psychiatrist Services definition

Psychiatrist Services means services provided by licensed physicians, within their scope of practice, who have contracted with the MHP to provide specialty mental health services, who have indicated a psychiatrist specialty as part of the provider enrollment process for the Medi-Cal program, to diagnose or treat a mental illness or condition. For the purposes of this Chapter, psychiatrist services may only be provided by physicians who are individual or group providers. Note: Authority cited: Section 14680, Welfare and Institutions Code.
