If Customer transfers or is otherwise involved in the transfer of any Customer Content (whether in connection with its business or otherwise) over the Public Network or Private Networks, then Customer is solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws, rules and regulations in any and all applicable regions or countries regarding the security, privacy, legality and/or safe handling of such Customer Content.
Seller shall ensure that Confidential Information transmitted through a Public Network is protected using Secure FTP, Socket Layer (SSL), or an equivalent means of protection.
Those cases where less stringent access restrictions are necessary, such as the Hosts used by Synacor vendors to upload Content to use, are also kept and will remain separate from the more sensitive Private Networks, where no outbound route from the Public Network to the Private Network is or will be available, in order to isolate unauthorized and/or third party access.
