Public Safety Power Shutoff definition

Public Safety Power Shutoff and “PSPS” each has the meaning provided for in OAR 410-120-0000.
Public Safety Power Shutoff or “PSPS” means a proactive de-energization of a portion of a Public Utility’s electrical network, based on the forecasting of and measurement of extreme wildfire weather conditions.
Public Safety Power Shutoff means a preventative measure to de-energize all or a portion of an electric generation, distribution or transmission system when the provider reasonably believes that there is an imminent and significant risk that strong winds, or other extreme and potentially dangerous weather events, increase the probability of wildfire.
