Pump and Haul definition

Pump and Haul means any unusual circumstance wherein sewage is permitted to be transported by vehicle to a point of disposal. The term "pump and haul" includes all facilities and appurtenances necessary to collect and store the sewage for handling by a contractor having a valid sewage handling permit.
Pump and Haul as a means of disposal from holding tanks for new construction shall not be permitted. "Pump-and-haul" may, at the Health Officer's discretion, be used to alleviate a hazard from an existing structure on a “temporary” basis until an acceptable means of sewage disposal is available. Temporary, for purposes of this section, means a duration not to exceed nine months.
Pump and Haul means a method of sewage collection and disposal for sewage generated at a dwelling or premise, which utilizes onsite storage in a holding tank. The stored sewage is pumped as necessary by an approved tanker vehicle and transported to an approved offsite-receiving facility for final disposal.
