Quiet Zone definition

Quiet Zone means any area of land or highway included within any zone under the provisions of the Zoning Bylaw of the Municipality in effect from time to time other than land in an Industrial Zone or Commercial Zone on which no residential dwelling units have been constructed;

Quiet Zone means all lands located within a distance of 250 meters of all exterior walls of a hospital, nursing home, or seniors retirement facility;

Quiet Zone means those areas of the City where quiet is of particular importance and as more particularly designated in Schedule 4 to this By-law.

Examples of Quiet Zone in a sentence

• It must be remembered that in a New Quiet Zone all public crossings must be equipped with flashing lights and gates.

• In other words, a relevant collision that occurred during the period of time that train horns were sounded will not disqualify a Pre-Rule Partial Quiet Zone that has a Quiet Zone Risk Index that is less than twice the National Significant Risk Index.

• A Partial Quiet Zone is a quiet zone in which locomotive horns are not routinely sounded at public crossings for a specified period of time each day.

• In other words, the Quiet Zone Calculator does not need to be used.

More Definitions of Quiet Zone

Quiet Zone means those areas so described in this Bylaw and so indicated in Schedule A, attached to and forming part of this Bylaw;

Quiet Zone means the area and block municipally known as the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital (Arnprior Regional Health) and illustrated in Appendix ‘A” attached hereto.
