Regulated Trait definition

Regulated Trait means (i) a trait that is developed by using genetic modification techniques which lead to genetically modified organisms which may not be released in the environment without an environmental risk assessment according to EU Directive 2001/18 on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms or a corresponding legislation in other countries, and (ii) a trait that is not covered by EU Directive 2001/18 or corresponding legislation in other countries, provided that substantial liability risks or substantial deregulation costs as referred to in the definition of Special Trait are confirmed by the Expert Committee.
Regulated Trait means a phenotypical characteristic of a Crop plant, seed or harvested material that i) needs to undergo a Regulated Trait Authorisation Process in at least one country of the Territory or ii) has completed a Regulated Trait Authorisation Process in at least one country of the Territory.

  • regulated person means a person whose collection activities are confined and are directly related to the operation of a business other than that of a collection agency including any of the following:

  • Regulated Entity means any entity referred to in Section I of Article L.613-34 of the French Code monétaire et financier as modified by the 20 August 2015 Decree Law, which includes certain credit institutions, investment firms, and certain of their parent or holding companies established in France.

  • Hazardous chemical has the meaning given in subregulation 5(1) of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth) and includes: prohibited carcinogen, as defined in subregulation 5(1) of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth); restricted carcinogen, as defined in subregulation 5(1) of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth); hazardous chemicals the use of which is restricted under regulation 382 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth), including polychlorinated biphenyls; Schedule 11 Hazardous Chemicals; hazardous chemicals listed in Table 14.1 of Schedule 14 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth); Schedule 15 Chemicals; and lead as defined in subregulation 5(1) of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth).

  • Natural attenuation means a variety of physical, chemical or biological processes that, under favorable conditions, act without human intervention to reduce the mass, toxicity, mobility, volume, or concentration of hazardous substances in the environment. These in situ processes include: Natural biodegradation; dispersion; dilution; sorption; volatilization; and chemical or biological stabilization, transformation, or destruction of hazardous substances. See WAC 173- 340-370(7) for a description of the expected role of natural attenuation in site cleanup. A cleanup action that includes natural attenuation and conforms to the expectation in WAC 173- 340-370(7) can be considered an active remedial measure.

  • Airborne radioactivity area means a room, enclosure, or area in which airborne radioactive materials, composed wholly or partly of licensed radioactive material, exist in concentrations:
