Relative Rate Index definition

Relative Rate Index or “RRI” means the method selected by the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (“OJJDP”) for the identification of DMC. This method compares the relative volume (rate) of activity for each Decision Point in the juvenile justice system for minority youth with the volume of that activity for majority youth. The RRI provides a single index number that indicates the extent to which the volume of that form of contact or activity differs for minority youth and majority youth.
