Safety Glasses. Section 1. The City shall supply prescription safety glasses with plastic lenses to employees who are required to wear safety glasses and who are members of the classifications contained in Appendix C to this contract. Safety glasses which are authorized must be industrial grade safety glasses which meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Specification Z87. 1. All employees who are required to wear safety glasses shall also be required to wear side ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, either permanent or snap-on, whenever an eye hazard exists. Solid tinted glasses will not be approved unless required by prescription. Photogray, progressive, scratch coating and/or anti-glare lenses may be considered for those employees who primarily work outdoors or as prescribed. In the event that additional classes are identified as needing either prescription safety glasses or protective eyewear, such classes may be added to the classification list in Appendix C upon approval of PAGE and the City. Section 2. The City agrees to pay the full cost of required prescription safety glasses, with frames not to exceed $75.00. This excludes the cost of the eye examination which will be the responsibility of the employee. The effected employees will be allowed one (1) replacement of safety glasses every two (2) years. In the event the safety glasses become lost, unserviceable, or broken on the job, the employee must present a written request for replacement to the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If the employee breaks his safety glasses while on the job, the Department shall replace the glasses at no cost to the employee. The replacement of lost glasses or glasses that are broken off the job will be at the discretion of the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If an employee has been provided safety glasses by the City, the employee shall be permitted to retain possession of the glasses after separation from the City without reimbursing the City for any costs associated with the glasses. Section 3. An employee who is required to wear prescription safety glasses must present a written request to his department head or designated representative. Section 4. The employee must obtain a current prescription and the employee is authorized the use of sick leave not to exceed two (2) hours to accomplish this examination. The employee will obtain a purchase order from the Department Head prior to ordering the safety glasses. The employee will present the purchase order to the appropriate vendor ...
Safety Glasses. Employees who are required by the Employer to wear safety glasses as a condition of employment shall be eligible to participate in the Employer's Safety Glasses Program. Such program shall provide one (1) pair of required safety glasses (lenses and frames which meet the Employer's specifications) to eligible employees at the time of initial eligibility and shall include provisions for replacement lenses and frames upon breakage or prescription changes. The program shall not, however, provide reimbursement to eligible employees for costs associated with eye examinations nor shall it provide replacement lenses or frames if issued glasses are lost.
Safety Glasses. During the life of the Collective Agreement, the Company will pay one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of one (1) pair of safety prescription glasses and frames as required by an employee doing assigned work, which necessitates the wearing of safety glasses, through the Canadian Optometrists Association program. Should an employee require progressive bi-focals, the employee may purchase the prescription safety glasses with the same type of lenses. If the employee sustains damage to his/her safety prescription glasses while performing his/her assigned duties, the Company will subsidize the cost of repair or replacement of these safety glasses in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the cost. During the term of the collective agreement, when an employee selects their first pair of prescription safety glasses, the employee may also select a pair of prescription safety sunglasses paid by the company should the employee require both clear and shaded lenses safety glasses. Pre-management approval will be required prior to ordering of prescription sunglasses.
Safety Glasses a. When the County requires the use of safety glasses, the County will purchase and replace such glasses as prescribed below. b. An employee who needs prescription glasses and/or has prescription changes is expected to pay for his or her eye examination. The County will pay for the cost of the glasses due to such changes. c. If it is determined by the County that particular employees are exposed to excessive sun glare, safety sun glasses will be provided to those employees at County expense. If both safety sun glasses and regular sun glasses are required on the job, both will be provided by the County. d. If County-provided safety glasses are damaged on the job, the County will pay the total cost of replacement.
Safety Glasses. ‌ a. It shall be mandatory for employees to wear safety glasses where such glasses are required to be worn by the City. Employees who wear prescription glasses shall wear protective eye wear provided by the City or prescription safety glasses. The City shall provide non-prescription safety glasses for employees. b. Employees are free to purchase prescription safety glasses from any source the employee chooses. The City will reimburse the employee for the purchase of prescription safety glasses up to a maximum of $125.00 per pair of glasses. c. To be eligible for the above reimbursement, the employee must obtain prior authorization from his/her supervisor before purchasing the required safety glasses, and must submit the receipt to the supervisor to verify the cost and substantiate the reimbursement. The City maintains the right to specify the standards for non-prescription safety glasses. Further, prescription safety glasses shall conform in all respects to the U.S.A. Safety Standards for Head, Eye and Respiratory Protection, and the prescription shall not be more than twenty-four (24) months old. d. The cost of any eye examination and special or cosmetic frames shall be paid by the employee.
Safety Glasses. The City will pay full costs of prescription safety glasses except examination costs. The City will determine when glasses are required and where glasses are to be purchased. Should replacement be necessary due to loss or damage, such replacement must be approved by the immediate supervisor and department head. Additionally, the City will provide spectacle kits required to hold glasses within City-owned breathing apparatus. The spectacle kits will remain the property of the City and shall be provided to those firefighters who need to wear prescription eyewear within their facemasks.
Safety Glasses. 12.3.1 Where a teacher is considered to be working in an “eye danger” area the teacher shall receive a personal issue of standard neutral safety glasses which shall remain the property of the employer. 12.3.2 Where a teacher who ordinarily wears optical glasses at work is engaged on work in an “eye danger” area, the teacher shall be supplied for the time engaged on such work, with specially hardened neutral “clip on” type safety glasses to be worn over normal glasses, such “clip on” shall remain the property of the employer.
Safety Glasses. For those employees whose primary duties require the wearing of safety glasses, as determined by the University and pursuant to applicable safety code(s), the University shall make non-prescription safety glasses available at the work site and provide prescription safety glasses every two (2) years, if needed.
