Examples of sanitary and phytosanitary measures in a sentence
For purposes of Chapter 2 (National Treatment and Market Access for Goods), Chapter 3 (Rules of Origin and Operational Procedures Related to Origin), Chapter 4 (Customs Procedures and Trade Facilitation), Chapter 5 (Trade Remedies), Chapter 6 (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures), Chapter 7 (Technical Barriers to Trade), Article XX of the GATT 1994 and its interpretative notes are incorporated into and made part of this Agreement, mutatis mutandis.
The Parties agree on establishing Committees in the following matters: (a) Trade in Goods; (b) Trade in Services; (c) Investment; (d) Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; (e) Technical Barriers to Trade; (f) Trade Facilitation; (g) Rules of Origin; and (h) Cooperation, including Intellectual Property.
The Committees on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade and Rules of Origin shall coordinate their tasks with those of the Committee on Trade in Goods.
The rights and obligations of the Parties in respect of sanitary and phytosanitary measures shall be governed by the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures.
For purposes of this Chapter: SPS Agreement means the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, contained in Annex 1A to the WTO Agreement; and definitions in Annex A to the SPS Agreement shall apply.
Notwithstanding paragraph 1, this Chapter shall not apply to sanitary and phytosanitary measures covered by Chapter Six (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures) or to purchasing specifications prepared by governmental bodies for production or consumption requirements of governmental bodies covered by Chapter Sixteen (Government Procurement).
The Parties affirm their commitment to the rights and obligations provided for in the WTO Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (hereinafter referred to as the WTO SPS Agreement).
The Parties shall establish an Expert Group on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and Food Standards as a consultative forum to promote the objective set out in Article 601 (c) and to reflect their commitments under Article 608 (1) to strengthen cooperation between regulatory agencies having responsibility for sanitary and phytosanitary measures and for food standards.
The rights and obligations of the Parties in respect of sanitary and phytosanitary measures shall be governed by the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (hereinafter referred to as “the SPS Agreement”).
A Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures is hereby established to provide a regular forum for consultations.
